About Us

I’m Duncan Mulvaney, a concept designer who’s spent the better part of my career helping build worlds for some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

If you’ve ever watched a scene and felt like the world extended far beyond the frame: crowded streets, believable courts, bustling taverns, soldiers in the distance, travelers passing through - that’s the kind of detail I’ve always obsessed over. And behind the scenes, that detail usually comes down to one thing:

Background characters. Lots of them.

On productions, I constantly needed crowds and supporting figures to sell scale; characters that read instantly, fit a specific time period, and still hold up when the camera gets closer than it was supposed to. The problem was always the same: you rarely have time to build an entire population from scratch when you’re racing a deadline.

So I did what most designers do: I started building my own library.

Era Mesh and Company is the first time I’m opening that vault to the public — a growing collection of production-ready character assets designed to drop into your scene fast, look great immediately, and stay flexible when your project changes direction (because it always does).

These assets are made for the way professionals actually work:

  • strong silhouettes and readable period shapes

  • “ready-posed” options that stage well for layouts and previs

  • consistent design language across a set, so your world feels cohesive

  • built to be practical — not precious

This is early days for me as a seller, but not early days for me as a designer. I’m simply turning the same tools I’ve relied on in film production into something creators everywhere can use. Whether you’re building a short, a game, a pitch deck, a cinematic, or a whole universe.
